Bouquet: All Blood Runs Red Under The Skin
My work ‘Bouquet: All Blood Runs Red Under The Skin’ takes on diversity of skin color through the beauty of a bouquet of dark and light roses made from cosmetic foundations, as a celebration. I remind that the beauty is surface by pixelating the bouquet image since the artwork goes a level deeper to represent our intrinsic unity through the blood that runs below the skin. Hallmarks of an outdated paradigm will show as emotions of hate, anger, outrage when the spotlight is on division, yet by shifting to a celebration of the diversity while recognizing our commonality, our heart centered perspective allows us to get on the same side of working it out together allowing for grief, sadness, and ultimately love in the bonding. We need people rowing together in the same direction. There is always a higher level from which to see a problem in order to do so. I wish for my work to move my viewer to serenity with that in focus.
