Things + Ideas
Andrea specializes in Oil on Canvas paintings and is currently producing two contemporary series of works. In her Series ‘Light Through Glass, Gems + Jewels’ she explores the beauty of the interplay of light and shadow, whereas, in ‘Truth Serums’, she explores ideas that heal humanity into coming together. She paints in the style of hyperrealism depicting details of subjects that generally are not readily seen with the human eye. ‘Light Through Glass, Gems + Jewels’
Her first series ‘Light’ is a study in light and shadow to empower people to remember the light they are, particularly by acknowledging that it takes the contrasts of both shadow and light to create our inner beauty. ‘Chandelier’ in this series most exemplifies such a visual symphony in our process of reclaiming ourselves fully, ‘becoming’ wholly who we are.
‘Truth Serums’
And since 2021 seems to be calling us back out into the world for activity and contribution, Andrea's new series ‘Truth Serums’ is inspired to portray the shift to realizing fundamental truths about our humanness in relationship to each other - in working together. Creating and solving through community, cooperation and collaboration will become a whole new technology for human beings, though much skill, perspective and painfully fresh paradigms will need to evolve for such unity. Her first work in this series, ’Bouquet: All Blood Runs Red’, celebrates diversity of skin tone, though reminds that skin deep, our greater beauty is each like the other.
‘Reflections On Wet Pavement’
The world feels like it’s upside down. This series is a means for seeing the grit and beauty in the upside down as we navigate daily our path through the unknown.
